How do I search for an item?

Head on over to the Explore Listings page to start browsing. You can filter items by location, category, or tags. Tags provide further refinement details such as “Couch”, “Red”, “Mid-Century Modern”. Feel free to play around with the tags and find something fun and unique.

How do I contact a seller?

When exploring a listing, you can either ask the seller a question or make an offer for the item. Both options will initiate a messaging conversation with the seller where further details can be established.

Is communication with a seller safe and secure?

Absolutely! We created an internal messaging system which protects your privacy and anonymity. Other users will only ever see your Public Display Name and any additional information which you mark as “Public” in your profile settings.

How do I make an offer?

Click on a listing which you like and select the “Make Offer” button. The only input required is the price you wish to offer, provided it is at least 50% of the asking price. Making an offer will initiate a messaging conversation between you and the seller.

How do I withdraw an offer?

There is not a formal process to withdraw an offer. Instead, simply open the messaging conversation between you and the seller and let them know you have withdrawn your offer.

How do we choose a meeting location?

Selection of the meeting location occurs via the messaging conversation between you and the other user. Our Best Practices page provides safety tips and instructions on how to select a meeting location. Always bring someone with you and meet the other user in a public location. Police stations, fire stations, and major shopping centers are all excellent options.

Tips on inspecting an item before purchase?

Always inspect the item to ensure the condition is as expected. Validate the item meets the description and pictures from the listing. If an item is not as expected, you are not obligated to proceed with the purchase or further negotiation may be desired. If the seller is using AGF Payments, they can quickly adjust the price by re-initiating the payment for the newly negotiated price.

How do I pay for an item?

Though optional, we strongly encourage everyone to use AGF Payments. Rather than having to complete transactions insecurely with cash, buyers can pay via credit card and sellers can receive instant payments to their bank account for safe and secure transactions.

If you choose not to use AGF Payments, we strongly encourage users to pay with cash only in accordance with our Best Practices.

How do I get my item?

After a successful payment, the seller is required to provide the item to the buyer. If a seller accepts payment and does not provide the item, please contact your local police department immediately and let us know at abuse@agoodfind.com.

How do I report an item?

If you find a listing which violates AGF’s Term of Use, please report it immediately using the “Report Ad” button located on the listing page.

Do I have to pay to use A Good Find?

A Good Find is completely free to use for both buying and selling. We offer optional subscription accounts with access to additional features.
